Climbing Mt. Triglav is a cherished Slovene tradition, offering a blend of physical challenge, spectacular views, and the pride of conquering this symbolic summit.
If you have decent stamina and a desire to reach higher, ascending Triglav is an adventure not to be missed. At 2,864 meters, Triglav stands tall above the Julian Alps of Slovenia.
It is both the most popular and one of the most rewarding climbs in the region. Although many tackle its slopes during the high season, our expert guides know the quieter trails, allowing you to enjoy the stunning landscape and local wildlife, including the occasional chamois or marmot.
The ascent starts in Krma Valley, the easiest and most accessible route. This relatively undemanding route is suitable even for hikers with limited experience, though a good fitness level is necessary.
Depending on conditions and group readiness, the final push to the summit can occur on either of the two days. The summit climb includes a 400-meter via ferrata section — safe and secure, but requiring some climbing effort.
Reaching the top is an exhilarating achievement, and the panoramic descent is equally memorable. Many find themselves wanting to do it all again — it truly is that rewarding!
NOTE: Summer can be busy on Triglav. To secure a spot at the lodge, booking several weeks in advance is recommended, especially for weekends. For last-minute bookings, we will do our best to accommodate you or find a suitable alternative.
